Writer
The binghamton collection
After transferring to Binghamton, I dabbled with a minor in Creative Writing.
For a while, I struggled with the original ending of this piece because it felt unresolved. Decades after initially embarking on this story, I created an ending making this piece a hybrid of my new and old writing.

With this piece, I tried to capture a fleeting moment in time. Now with kids of my own, this seems sadly, slightly anachronistic. Just spending a summer afternoon on my front lawn.

As my parents transitioned into empty nesters, I took time to reflect on their experiences. In this piece, I imagined the complexities of this change and considered what was going on in their child-free home.
